OBD DesigNation® Journal
NEWS FLASH!

OBD DesigNation® Journal Hits the Streets

The Organization of Black Designers is proud to announce the publication of the first issue of DesigNation® our new journal.

This 70 page issue takes a look at the work and thoughts of designers practicing interior, fashion, graphic, industrial, and architectural design. It is a view of design through the eyes, hearts and minds of the Organization of Black Designers and its members. OBD is the first and only multi-disciplinary organization dedicated to advancing the careers of designers of color, and to celebrating and archiving their work.

We are proud of this first issue and we hope it will serve as evidence of our commitment to create greater exposure and opportunity for African American designers as well as other designers of color. With your help and support, OBD is impacting the attitudes of the design professions and is prompting us to promote greater diversity in our ranks in order to make them even more vibrant and creative.

This special issue is already a collectors item. Historically, it represents the first time an entire issue of a periodical has been dedicated exclusively to African American designers and their work. We promise you, it will not be the last.

OBD Publishing, Inc. is currently working on the next issue of the DesigNation® Journal which is scheduled for a Fall/Winter 1996 release and a much wider distribution. It will also carry national advertising. We welcome your participation and we urge you to submit your suggestions for story ideas; articles, new products, projects, events, designer profiles, design business news, and of course sponsors and advertisers.
