We've got a soft spot in our hearts for this company, so we're glad to see things moving into the black (brownie?). 'Course, there's bad news here too: "Now in the final year of its historic four-year digital makeover, Kodak has piled up $2.7 billion in restructuring charges and accumulated $2 billion in net losses over the last two years. It plans to eliminate up to 27,000 jobs, with 23,300 already axed through 2006." That's a lot of jobs. Story here.

I am glad to see that Kodak is turning the corner. Being an x-designer for Kodak I also have a soft spot for the company. It is a difficult situation for a company like Kodak. It is a company that is known as the mom and pop company of pictures. They are not associated first hand with electronics and cutting edge technology. This is an extremely difficult situation to be for a company like Kodak that has been producing great products and great innovations in designs and technologies but still are not getting the long lasting recognition from the industry. It seems that people do not realize that Kodak has been doing this from the beginning, they were the first to bring picture taking to the masses. They have been incorporating this knowledge into the all the products that they produce ensuring that the user has a great experience not only in use of the product but in the out come (final photo in hand).
To all the people developing the great products keep fighting the good fight it look likes things are starting to turn. Great job
