The David Report has just launched a new hub, (just a bulletin before), with a few new features and room to grow. Their new bulletin can be read/downloaded here, with the excellent topic, Communication Through Product. We like the charts in the CTP article, but find the text in Oliver Ike's Our Private eye - Lugana a bit dubious:
It should not be the designer who creates a product that he wants but is should be a team of market researchers from your company telling the designer what the market wants and then accordingly the designer will use his talent to interpret your briefing.
It's at least somewhere in the middle, no?

I dont think that we need market researchers, they always make everything worse...
A good designer should know himself what - not only the market - but what humans and our world needs to become a better and nicer place. Market researchers just look for things which perhaps will sell good, but ecological aspects, real human needs, ethical aspects are no arguments for them at all.
