Regarding muscle cars as chargining stations... The alternator on the charger is oging to be a bit undersized to charge 8 priusii. the m2 motor on the prius which provides power to batteries should be more than adequate to charge another prius... swap the transmission on the charger for a genuinely large ac motor and you'd be erm cooking with gas.

I think what the author is referring to is using the engine to run a real generator like an Electromotive diesel setup used on trains and ships.
