Still not seeing much on the form-follows-function tip here on the CES floor, but we're trying. The last thing that jumped out at us were these rather extreme, specialty PC tower bodies made by a company called In Win.
Machine running hot? Their H-Frame is a series of aluminum cooling fins:
Or is your machine getting beat up? Their "crushproof and shockproof" D-Frame looks like it was made in a bicycle factory:
I have no idea what specific circumstances the latter was designed for, but it seems like it will handily survive a tornado or earthquake.
The thing I love best about Chinese companies are their tech sheets. The H-Frame's attendant document says it is made from "satiny and exquisite aluminum." Next time you put in an order from a materials supplier, ask for that stuff.
