In response to the dwindling supply of engineers and also to engage students' interests in the field of engineering, major steel producer Nucor, CAD software giant Autodesk and software developer Avatech Solutions have joined forces to make a difference. The program, called NuBeginning, involves exposing high-school students to 3D model based design as well as 2D design and drafting. Two high schools in Nebraska are the recipients of free Autodesk software and instruction provided by industry experts and educational
consultants from Avatech Solutions.
