The School of Visual Arts' MFA Design Department will offer a new degree program in Design Criticism, founded by Alice Twemlow, who will act as chair, and Steven Heller. In addition to Paola Antonelli, Michael Bierut, Ralph Caplan, Steven Heller, Karrie Jacobs, Julie Lasky, and Phil Patton, newly announced faculty includes Akiko Busch of Metropolis, Alexandra Lange of New York Magazine, Janet Froelich of the New York Times, Russell Flinchum, design historian, curator and author, Elaine Louie of Home and Garden, Philip Nobel of Metropolis, and Emily Gordon of Print.
A long list of guest lecturers have also been released which includes Andrew Blauvelt, design director of the Walker Art Center, Rick Poynor, author and design critic, Deyan Sudjic, director at the Design Museum in London, Andrea Codrington, design journalist and editor at Phaidon, and even Core77's very own Allan Chochinov!
