Write what you know: the first winners of the Winterhouse Awards for Design Writing & Criticism are in, and they are Thomas de Monchaux and Katherine Feo. (Those even kinda read like writers' names, don't they?) The awards are a joint venture between the Winterhouse Institute and the AIGA, and "seek to increase the appreciation of design throughout the design community, and for the greater public, by recognizing excellent writing about design, and by discovering new voices in design criticism and commentary." Congrats to the winners (they get the cash as well as a gig at the Design Legends Gala); we'll post links to their actual submssions when they're online. Full p.release here.
