Completely not-design related: Core superfriend Kris is urging us to help get the word out about a grassroots petition to make a dent in the under-representaion of Latinos in English language television. Get all the info you need, and sign it at www.HelpChangeTV.com.
Did you know that most Latinos in the United States are U.S. born and do not watch Spanish language TV? Did you know that despite all the press after the 2000 census that Latinos are still grossly underrepresented on English language TV and that most roles still consist of stereotypes such as illegal immigrants, maids, gardeners, drug dealers, etc? ...The first step to eliminating this injustice is to convince Nielsen Media Research to accurately count U.S. Hispanic Television Viewing and to STOP focusing on factors such as language spoken, which have nothing to do with what TV programs Latinos choose to watch.
Nice Globe and Mail story here. (Write "referred by core77.com" in the comments when you sign.)
