Room service never looked so good! The opening night of the Royal College of Art's Disturbance exhibit kept many a party-goer in bed this weekend. After a marathon of opening festivities, the newest exhibit by the RCA Platform 10 settles into its home at the Great Eastern Hotel in London.
On view until May 20, Disturbance offers new perspectives on furniture, lighting, and products. Pieces like Jordi Canuda's elastic Behind the Wall bench and Peter Marigold's Make/Shift expandable shelving unit both stretch the notions of furniture and spatial interaction. Jorre Van Ast's exploration of the ubiquitous clamp creates a new Clampology of design solutions for bookends, hooks, and candles, while the rotating Flying Fish Bowl by Shay Alkalay takes your favorite pet fish on a ride while never leaving the comfort of his own home.
