Nighttime at the conference brought a quick tour through the museum, with actual Rosa Parks bus, actual JFK limo, an actual Dymaxion House, and actual 1952 Oscar Meyer Wienermobile. (Lots of stations for making your own Mold-a-Rama blow-molded souvenirs too, but the make-your-own Rosa Parks bus? Ouch.) Anyway, a swanky dinner in the middle of The Ford Center with student merit award winner presentations (10 of them!) took up a couple hours after that, with the ultimate honor going to Mandy Stehouwer from CIA--a bulletproof portfolio, smart work, and a bright future indeed. Congrats Mandy! (Other candidates were: Purin Phanichphant from Carnegie Melon, Leon Fitzpatrick from CCS, Mathew Brown from Kendall, Thomas Hartings from OSU, Joshua Rigg from Western Michigan, Laura Myre from UC, Chris Boggs from CCA, and Evan Fulford from University of Michign.)
