Strap on your PVC boots, hike up your nylon stockings. The Science Museum opened its doors last Tuesday to celebrate the 100th birthday of the world's first entirely synthetic material - plastic. It sparked a revolution in manufacturing, transport, fashion, design and more.
100 years of making plastics is a free-to-enter exhibition will trace the proliferation of plastics during the past 100 years and discuss the current environmental issues surrounding this family of materials.
