After Pictoplasma throwed its opening party at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, it was time for the characters to hit the streets. To kick off this year's Pictopia Festival, over 30 galleries were asked to give home to an enormous family of imaginary friends.

Did you ever experience a Rorschach test? The Joumi designers turned this dull test into a real gaming experience by adding a bit of "Dance Dance Revolution" (gaming freaks won't need wiki for that). Step by step, visitors can create complex visuals supported by groovy beats in a hidden back room in Berlin.

At the ATM Gallery Berlin, we need to take a closer look through the painted window to find ourselves in a world of MYMO, or My Monsters. When we look for the artist the host says: "Sorry, I am just the lazy gallery owner ;)" and recommends mymonsters.org for more monstrous graffiti, collages and installations.

By following our Character Walk route map and finger-sized instructions we find ourselves within a Pagan Lullaby written, or better, drawn by the Lithuanian designer Gediminas Siaulys. Masks of pagan gods and magical tales makes this exhibition an almost magical experience.

At the Panatom Gallery, we experience a retinal overload with dramatic paintings by Albert Bertolin and stunning videos by the French Gangpol & Mit. These mind blasting videos are hard to describe, so better check out the video's yourself right here.
