This year's Prague Design Days are mainly happening at the Superstudios in the Holesovice area. The Classic7 is one of the main buildings that might seem to be abandoned from the outside but is actually full of young designers.
Among the four floors of design presentations we spotted torpedoes as toys, speakers that seem to be dogs, trash which is not trash, leather made from fish, and vases that remind us of Marilyn Monroe. Nothing here is what it seems to be - watch for yourself!

Jerry and Anicka from Symbio Design made the first Torpedo car as a toy for their own child. At this year's Designersblok they designed a limited edition of 20 unique Torpedo cars, one of the most favorite attractions for this year's youngest visitors. We noticed only one problem with these cars - children directly start crying as soon as the parents wanted them to stop the ride.

The handcrafted and recycled paper works at Papelote make a nice shop for the visiting youngsters who are in need for next year's school materials and people who are looking for alternatives to the traditional black notebooks.

Czech designer Thomas Kral demonstrates that cork can be more than just a bottle stopper. With CNC milling techniques and carefully selected glass pieces he created a beautiful series of bowls, lamps and boxes.

Many designers are inspired by the female beauty. For historical pinups, Jan Capek's series of vases is probably one of the best tributes ever.

Skins Designs presents a selection of their wallpapers and surface design collection. Whether you prefer full color geometry or tattoo-like patterns on your walls, tables, or lights, there is something for everyone.

The girls at Trashmade presents a collection of Czech-made jewelry, fashion and interior items made from recycled materials such as old computers. Trashmade is full of ideas and brings new life to old appliances.

LSD stands for Libor Sostak Design and presents a series of speakers that look like mutated dogs and adds typography to its chairs by revealing its wooden base.

Materio traveled in from France to present their "Inspired by Nature" exhibition. Friday night, Elodie Ternaux lectures about Materio's materials libraries in Paris, Antwerp, Barcelona, and demonstrates material developments such as how fish skin is replacing traditional cow leather.
Greetings from Prague, more pictures and stories coming up!
