I actually participated in two of these workshops in Europe, one in Italy and one in Great Britain. Its really gratifying to donate your creativity to improve a child's development!!!
Below is a link of what on of my designs: homemade board game to improve hand eye coordination - constructed with tennis balls a round board and some rubber bands and a necklace.

The idea of the workshop is to design products with accessible materials that a regular parent could find at home or in a local shop, modify them and create a toy for your own child.

Here is another example: Polpo (octopus in Italian) made from bicycle tire tubes and some water-bottles (the eyes are made with the bottom of the bottles and some black buttons) each tentacle provided a different sensorial experience. hot/cold sound, smell etc.
