Dutch design duo Sietze Kalkwijk and Joost van Brug of Marc & Justus Comandare adjusted the most iconic piece of "task" seating to suit today's youth who live a "rather sedentary and TV-filled existence." The result is ideal for supine computing, in hopes that the young and the listless will take it upon themselves to increase productivity in exchange for a more "familiar" lounge-y position.

very nice, and so refreshing to see a PROTOTYPE rather than just a rendering, so easy to draw cool looking stuff far far far harder to build it and make it work.
If someone sat in this "prototype" and swivel they would land with their bottom on the floor. The extra long spoke makes sense in this view, but what happens when you turn the seat around?? Zippyflounder, I hope this is a provocation on usability.
I've wanted a chair like that to work or my computer or to read, or other sedentary activities. When will it be on the market. I bet it is pricey. But who cares if it is as comfortable as it looks.
