Remember Joshua Harker? Our interwebs-trawling editor Ray spotted one of the Chicago-based multicreative's projects last year, this nifty 3D-printed skull, and posted an entry on it. It subsequently became "the #1 most funded Kickstarter Sculpture Project," reminding us that if you've got a cool object, a low target and a low price point, buyers will come.
I came across Harker's name again this morning while Coroflot hunting. Didn't realize the guy had a page with us. In any case, the guy's "industrial design" section is loaded up with beautiful renderings—and while I can't tell what the heck any of them are, as there's no descriptive text, I can't take my eyes off of them. Anyone want to take some educated guesses based on the form factors? That globe-looking thing up top, I wouldn't know where to begin. As for these:
A remote control designed to confuse my parents?

No idea, but if you were wearing some kind of space suit and pointing this at me, I'd move away from you.

I don't know what this thing is, but I get the sense if someone were to make it, it'd be Braun.

Perhaps some type of DVD-reading mechanism...

...that fits into this, which might be a player?

And somehow incorporates this housing?

This next device seems like it has some type of screen, and the shroud appears to double in length when unfurled, but I can't imagine what it's for; the angle of the shroud, if that's what it is, doesn't seem ideal for viewing the screen, if that's what that is.

World's skinniest router?

Finally, one I can get. This is some type of combination lock.

Clearly you're meant to wind the fishtail-looking thing on the right, but what does the spring do?

I believe number 1 is a bubble machine.
It's great to see someone using glass in their renders to show the internal workings, especially since he has managed to avoid getting any major distortion from the glass. I'm pretty sure the top one is a bubble machine, and the reflection on the glass is really nice.
I think the fish one is a, well... a fish. :)
Those look like two watch batteries to power the LEDs and perhaps a motor to wiggle the tail.
And the first image looks like a crazy bubble maker for the richest kid in the world.

The image at the top is clearly a bubble blowing machine. You can see the bubble wands at the top that rotate through the solution with the fan built into the side. The housing even looks like a bubble! With a hole in the top for the bubbles to exit. It has a hose bib on the bottom. Maybe it's a combination sprinkler/bubble machine for the affluent?
The skinniest router looks like an electric corkscrew, though the corkscrew part is missing from the rendering.
That first one's got to be a bubble blower. Looks like you fill the flask looking bottom up with bubble solution and the center motor rotates those rings around an air pump. Pop goes bubbles out of the top. Also the clear housing looks like a bubble itself. lol
An often overlooked talent, which he possesses, is materials selection. If these designs were covered in tolex, no one would give them a second look. Nice work.
So, 5 looks like a DVD player with a built-in projector and speaker, and then I'd assume 6 is a CD/DVD case, maybe also with a built-in something? That round bit at the joint looks ripe for a projector lens. Maybe a 8 DVD changer, with the projector.
