The Surface Design Team at Microsoft is seeking an industrial designer with a focus on material exploration, development and product implementation. As part of the Surface Design Team, this role will be involved in end-to-end product development of our products. He or she will identify, document and track all design execution issues including color, material, and finish deviations from golden samples, as well as attending development team meetings as needed to ensure quality and fit and finish priorities are kept and followed through with development. The ideal candidate will also identify potential process improvements that will improve fit and finish and/or part yields that meet the design intent. This position will require exceptional project management skills and cross-functional problem solving experiences to refine and flawlessly execute our design intent.
