
What if we could really feel virtual textiles? This might sound like science fiction but is actually about the HAPTEX project. Professor Magnenat-Thalmann is leading a team at the University of Geneva to develop a tactile interface allowing the user to have the sensation of feeling the virtual textile.

The project "HAPtic sensing of virtual TEXtiles" (HAPTEX) is a research project on multimodal perception of textiles in the virtual environment. Its main goal is to develop a Virtual Reality System (including both software and hardware) for visuo-haptic interaction with virtual textiles.
