Wheelabrator Allevard has developed and patented a new metallic composite material by replacing the usual aggregates of a high performance concrete with steel shots. WearGrit is cold-formable and castable, possessing outstanding mechanical properties and notably a very high wear and impact resistance. Its high metallic content allows for other potential applications, especially in the field of radiation protection. [via Wheelabrator Allevard.]
