The Russian Club has a longstanding place in Shoreditch history -- until a few years ago it was a Russian pool hall. Open until the early hours of the morning, it provided the venue for many crazy parties while I was still a student. Now, it has been cleaned up and reopened as a studio/gallery space, combining art, design and photography.
Just in time for London Fashion Week, last night I attended the viewing for a new exhibition by the Circuit Collective. It showcased bespoke fashion pieces, accessories, footwear and film. The invitation for Circuit carries a very nice explanation that really captures the essence of this group show.

Alongside garments (Rui Leonardes) and knitwear (Derek Lawlor), work in the show also included footwear (Eelko Moorer), millenary (Hannah Kates-Morgan), jewellery (Simone Brewster) and films by Catherine Anyango.

Circuit, is a collective who seeks to promote a more 'experimental attitude to design.' The event was a clear illustration of this approach, and combined performance, music and fashion in the after party, with a performance from London-based Electrodisco group, Sandi Sirocco.
