California-based Slice has a new line of four kitchen implements designed by Karim Rashid: A precision cutter, vegetable peeler, Y-peeler, and grater.
All four use ceramic blades (which can't rust and will never go dull), are finished in a non-slip grip, and all bear the sci-fi Karim Rashid aesthetic. Best of all, they range from only seven to fifteen bucks a pop.

In my honest opinion, I think these are ugly. It also kind of scares me having a sharp ceramic peeler with a handle that might make your hand slide towards the sharp bits, ouch! Also that picture looks like it was cranked out by a student in 10 min in Illustrator.
wow. i dont know whats worse; the designs or the presentation. looks like he should have paid to have someone elses name put on these...
Design-Police - Please arrest that guy!
So this is an I.D. student's "family of form" project right? I mean, if I was Slice, I'd ask for something more... these look like the Kone Vacuum he designed for Dirt Devil. Sorry, normally I'm not this critical, but I REALLY don't get why this is even worth mentioning. I could pick work from coroflot that garners far more interest than Karim Rashid's "designs".
I agree. The only thing Karim Rashid has going for him is form, and these don't have any. Even looking at the "use" pictures, I can't tell what three of them do...
I agree. I think these are a miss. he's unsuccessfully forced these utensils into his own aesthetic.
he probably justified the form like he did with the similarly shaped dirt devils - so that the objects can be displayed, thus reducing the amount of concealed storage space you need.
Apparently our homes aren't pointy enough.
