Architect and designer Stefano Giovannoni has designed an elegant new handheld vacuum for Alessi. It isn't every day that a mundane object like a dustbuster gets a successfully chic makeover. Tasteful stylization of minor home appliances such as this makes them more accessible since they are pretty enough to leave out in the open.

Leave it out?
This looks cool, but it's still a vacuum and anyone who uses a vacuum probably doesn't want one out of the closet (except when you are actually, say, vacuuming).
Sorry, but when I first saw that thing, "chrome slug" is what came to my mind.
I agree with both previous comments, and shutter at the $130 price tag for a generally superfulous home appliance.
