The Product Group has implemented a simple yet effective tamper-proof feature into beverage bottle caps to ensure safe sipping. An over-riding lip shares a unique marking with the cap and covers the lower portion of the seal, making funny business immediately apparent to the consumer. This cost-effective and manufacturing-friendly design promises huge safety benefits for the soft drink industry.

This seems to be a leap in bottle design. The system is, however, not tamper-proof. That phrase was retired some time ago and replaced with tamper-evident in order to convey that consumers must remain diligent and acknowledge the interface between design and malice. Tamper-proof was found to instill unfounded confidence.
