Designers Melanie Olle and Ilja Oelschlagel's Grandma's Kitchen concept is a compact unit that unravels to offer a plethora of functions. The seemingly flat, elevation-like panel folds, extends and opens to reveal a functional kitchen and dining area complete with dishwasher, chopping area, oven, refrigerator, table, chairs, and lamp.

that's some funny shit. i dig it!
Great idea, but I must say, after cooking, do we shut the kitchen up to eat and let the smells soak into the unit, or do we clean up and let the food get cold. It does seem quite impractical, everyone loves a big kitchen.
this is a great idea! I'd love a fold away bedroom :D
Obviously meant to be a whimsical piece not to be taken too seriously but brilliant in its simplicity!
If only they would build dorm rooms like that!
If not for the emotional evocation, I do not see how this fold-away kitchen is awesome. The 'compactness' is merely an illusion here. The need of a fold-away space just increases the space requirements. But again it is funny in a dysfunctional way.
