The Give it a Rest set of utensils designed by Godefroy de Virieu have a simple and clever design feature: a bump on the back that serves as a spoonrest, so you can set it down without getting sauce on the countertop. Made from bamboo, the set of six utensils--round spoon, regular spoon, spatula, rounded spatula, slotted spoon, and risotto spoon--goes for only $24.

uhm... this is good design? spoon rests aren't just for "resting" a utensil, they're for catching the drips too. so regardless of the built-in feature, you're still going to have a messy counter.
The resting part is too low and will plunge into any liquid that you are mixing. You are going to mess up your counter top anyway
