More effective than key or blade scratches that can be polished out, the Compact Disc Eraser promises to make your data unreadable/unrecoverable by applying specials optical-strips at a very specific skew locations. This defninitely beats cutting CDs with scissors--a sure-fire way to start rocking the eye-patch look.

scissors? i just pop them in the microwave oven for 3 seconds. it works, and looks cool, too.
i don't recommend microwave because of metal particles & fumes.
The microwave works great. Just nuke it for less than 3 seconds. No stink.
bad for the microwave due to metal arcing of the metallic foil off the cd. plus, i wouldn't reheat my food in there afterwards, could be a potential health hazard.
