
About a year from now the Beijing Olympics will kick off, and visitors will be treated to the sight of some unusual buildings: Herzog & de Meuron's much-ballyhooed National Stadium, a/k/a the "Bird's Nest," and the lesser known but no less interesting National Aquatics Center, which turns bubbles into structure.
