Could be bathtubs, might be portals to a different dimension

These ridiculously luxurious in-floor bathtubs from Red-Dot-Design Award-winning Kasch are totally the bee's knees. I would love to put these in my New York apartment, but something tells me the neighbors downstairs would complain....

Hit the jump to see more, but be warned that your dingy claw-foot will never look the same again.

The practicality of such a luxurious item is moot. The options are beautiful in context! Is it just me, or does the third picture present potential problems for the potential bath-taker? The floor itself appears to be a death trap for any who dare to trod across it with bare, wet feet-- and upon closer inspection of the bath water, does anyone else see a light night bolt charging through it?

TessMarch 8, 2009 3:39 PM

I agree. I love beautiful bathrooms, but these look like death traps to use, with sharp edges and slippery surfaces everywhere. No marble on a bathroom floor should be polished. There is a trend to think "beautiful but dangerous" is cool; let THEM be beautiful corpses!

I like the fact that the top of the tub is level with the floor.

Electric Shock!March 8, 2009 8:41 PM

Okay, pic #2, A computer monitor next to a bath tub... as much as I like being electrocuted to death, I don't think that is the best place for a computer monitor! lol

And the protruding faucet into all of these, I just know I'd hit my head on the corner.

So many ways to die of such a pointless design!

r10t3rMarch 9, 2009 11:25 AM

Very sexy examples.

For all of the whining in the comments about practicality, if you had the opportunity to have one installed for free, you would.

Nice designs overall.

vetalasMarch 10, 2009 1:36 AM

So you haven't ever watched TV or a movie while enjoying a nice warm bath?

Sure they're dangerous if you're not careful but if you're not careful you could DROWN in something like 2" of water, so what difference does it make if they look as good as this?

Great designs. I'd love to have one.

sergiofxMarch 10, 2009 4:04 AM

lol, pic 2 is with a monitor. Yup, definitely another dimension... the after life perhaps?

vetalasMarch 10, 2009 12:30 PM

Yeah, pic 2 is a monitor.. have you ever heard of "media center?"

MyronMarch 14, 2009 11:16 PM

Imagine washing the dog in one of these...
