Crocs goes tech

In an effort to tap a new market, comfortable footwear company Crocs has designed the Prepair Collection, a series of sandals meant to aid athletes with post-race recovery.

The collection is built with Crocs' core ergonomic design elements and features a nano-silver technology called Croslite Ag, a proprietary material with an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal silver additive. [The Prepairs Collection] Reduces peak pressure by up to 50% and reduces peak muscular effort by up to 24.6%.

So, is it all a bunch of hooey, or will these kicks in fact "enhance your recovery?"

Any athletes with any experience with these care to sound off?

I just puked in my mouth a little!

I don't see how anyone at Croc thought this was a good idea. Croc's brand identity has NEVER had ANYTHING to do with athletics in any way, shape, or form. Crocs have and always will be for the user who just wants something really simple to lounge around the house with. These designs are overly complicated and don't fit Croc's brand language at all.

Wow, is Lincubus411 totally, TOTALLY off base by a mile!!! Crocs, to their brand aficionados like me, have ALWAYS been first and foremost about ergonomics and foot health!!! Crocs Caymens cured my excruciating plantar fascitis and I've been a loyal fan and Crocs wearer ever since. Their shoes are designed for ergonomics, comfort, and to support the healthy structure of the foot, among all the other great features about Crocs such as their versatility, etc. This new "Prepair" fits right in with what the brand is known for and I can't wait to try them! My only question is, are they only for after a long hike or run, or can you wear them FOR the long walk/hike itself? I wear the Caymens for walks of many miles duration. They do wear down after about six months of heavy usage (if you walk an hour per day in them, for example) but they are so reasonably priced that I just replenish my supply every six months or so, because, again, they absolutely cured my previously intractable plantar facilities, which was excruciatingly painful. I never want to wear any other shoe EVER again. EVER. I will definitely be getting at least one pair of the "Prepair".
