Before there was "Shit My Dad Says" there was "Shit My Kids Ruined."
More than a few parents have discovered that a few minutes of divided attention is all it takes for their tyke to blaze a graffiti burner across the living room wall. Junior's gotta express himself, so what to do? University of Wuppertal ID student Dario Jandrijic's KLEXL Interactive Painting concept is for a projector that allows digital wall painting by means of an IR tracking camera.

Light pens take the place of crayons, light pixels take the place of those Neo-Expressionist smears, and plugging this thing into the wall'd be a damn sight easier than laying down a tarp and rolling over your child's masterpiece. Plus you can presumably save the images, and reproject them years later when you want to humiliate your child, now in design school, for his poor sense of composition and line quality.

Cool idea, though if the projector is behind the child they could not see what they were drawing...
So basically its like the Philips Drag & Draw?

How is the kid supposed to see what he/she is drawing? I doubt the projector is strong enough to project through the kid.
The kids are clever enough to notice that they cant draw in their shadow
Forget the kid app. This thing would be great for planning a wall mural. I've often thought about doing a complex paint job on my walls but don't want to risk wasting paint and time on something I'll end up hating. With this you can sketch it out, modify it at will and then when you like it, just go back over it with real paint. I love it, where do I get one?
like chris, what about the shadow!!!!
Like Kyle! *I* want one - forget the kids. I could get rid of my 4x8 grease board.
I would love to buy one for my little niece though (and for her supergeek dad).
all painted pictures can be saved. Rains assumption was wright. pictures can be send via email. maybe to grandparents for Christmas. or something else.
also can be send via wifi to the printer to print them out.
but painting is not the only game kids could play with the klex. there is a huge range of games could be developed for the klexl.
games with more activity maybe.some kind of reaction games.
it could also be possible to load a browser in the klexl to letting your child surf inetpages
and the shadow is really not a problem. The Kids are clever enough to notice that they can not draw in their shadow.
