Yet another inventor is working on a zippy electric car that will save us and the planet from petrol. Yawn, call us in ten years when it's ready--
Oh, wait a sec. This time the inventor is Sir James Dyson. Apparently the electric motors he's been putting in his vacuum cleaners are half the weight of regular engines, but can turn five times faster than the engine in an F1 car. Hmmm. Think it'll work? Read for yourself.

Just because some electric motors have really high RPM limits doesn't mean anything at all. Big deal. They need to be able to do WORK. The fact that you're comparing the revs of a motor to the revs of an internal combustion engine just shows how clueless this poster really is.
Five times faster than an F1 engine? I wonder if it really turns at 100,000 RPM. That would be impressive. Or they are saying F1 cars use 2000 rpm diesel boat motors. F1 engines turn around 15-20k rpm.
A similar car is already in production almost for last 5-6 years in India

There are high speed EV out on the market.
aptera.com and www.phoenixmotorcars.com. It would be cool to have these are charge by solar panels. The aptera car have solar panel but it is only used for cooling/heating the car.
