Dyson: "This thing totally sucks!"
In case you don't have a subscription to Forbes (we won't judge you), last week they announced the 11 individuals on their "Tastemakers: Industrial Design" list.
James Dyson is on there, noted as one of the world's richest men thanks to his powerful cyclone-based vacuum, and the list is filled out with big dogs and small dogs alike: newcomer Tobias Wong, Nissan's Shiro Nakamura, and Apple's Jonathan Ive, who designed some gewgaw called an iPod. Forbes used to be a good critical business magazine. Now it is a right wing nut rag sheet. Picking James Dyson and Ive in 2007 shows their level of current clueful/lessness, meter way over to the less side, how about doing it in 2004?
Right-o Christofay, Forbes is pretty clueless...I don't see any reason why this specific group was chosen + Miller and Gilad have interesting work but 90% of it I would not classify as Industrial Design
Dyson's comments are spot on, as to the rest being "ID" it is a jump ball because that term is for the most part outdated. What is "ID" for the 21st century, well it is not ceramic antlers in my book.
Forbes a right wing nut rag sheet[?]? Wow. Exaggerate much?
