If you've ever seen a pair of shoes being made, you know they cut shapes out of the leather, like cookie cutters and dough. Ever wonder what happens to the scraps?
Textile manufacturer Spinneybeck has begun recycling them into woven strips. The resultant 100-percent-recyclable (yep, it's got two lives) material, called Recyclable, is smooth to the touch, comes in two colors and can be used to upholster couches and the like. And for the leather, it sure beats pounding the pavement.

We have samples of this product in our firm. Just to clarify, the material on the left is the Recyclable product - not the one on the right. The Recyclable product is suitable for vertical applications or for the backing of Spinneybeck's Leather Tiles.
