The title says it all. Unfortunately there's no way for us to fit the entire image into our web template so you'll have to click here to see it big.
The graphic was done by Funnel Inc., a communications firm founded by Linden and Lori Wilson that specializes in "Information design that makes the complex clear," to help a client "appreciate the complexity of the [book manufacturing] process to understand the cost. They also need to be educated about each step."
Funnel's solution was to visually lay out the process from start to finish, using information they gathered from taking book factory tours and interviewing both workers and executives associated with the process.
While the process for a relatively simple bound book is interesting enough, I would lovvvve to see one of these for a piece of furniture or a cell phone.
