Design Forum Finland kicked off Helsinki Design Week last week with a full roster of activities and events including an exhibition on "Design and Business" where 9 studios have been selected to present their user centered approach for creating business value. Walking around the city, I found that Finnish culture seems to have design thinking embedded in its DNA. They take a strategic systems approach to problem solving, even such mundane things as the quality and quantity of public transportation in the city. What do you expect from the world's second oldest Design Forum, founded 135 years ago?
