Inductive charging sounds sexy: You place your phone or other technogizmo onto a chrome-stripped pad, and juice flows into the device without having to plug it in. WildCharge's forthcoming, much-ballyhooed wireless charger adapter kit for the iPhone is drawing much blog buzz.

But here's a couple problems with focused technology that isn't integrated into the larger "product ecosystem:" 1) You've got to encase your iPhone in a bulky proprietary case to suck the juice up, and 2) if you want to sync your phone, you've still got to plug the darn thing in.

I think wireless charging technology is undoubtedly cool, but I'm not that excited about it yet because it's still in its nascent stages. I can't see much point in adding yet another object to my already-cluttered desk that solves only part of a problem.
