Canned bread exists in the US - http://flakmag.com/misc/bmbread.html and also can be found in the UK. Not in a vending machine, of course.
I make cake in a jar (http://wiki.jacoballred.com/Cake-in-a-jar) pretty regularly, but have never heard of cake in a can. Wouldn't it taste metallic?
They used to do this for the old military "C Rations". My Dad and I found some canned bread (among other canned military rations) under an abandoned cabin in remote Alaska. We opened it up, and it seemed to be still good, but we weren't that hungry...
Canned bread isn't new. Our family had canned brown bread at holidays for years. It's excellent -- I recommend it.
Please advise me where we can purchase in Japan
