Too appropriate! WIRED editor Jeff Howe's recently come up with Coversourcing, a competition to design the cover of his new book, Crowdsourcing : How the Power of the Crowd is driving the future of business. Sponsored by Random House and Creative Review, the competition "invite[s] designers, creatives, and doodlers alike to submit their own designs for the book jacket. You can vote on your favourites, and the winning design will be printed on the UK edition of Crowdsourcing and win £500."

Similar to what Guy Kawasaki did for his book "The Art of the Start."
I honestly wish people would stop creating and supporting these "design competitions". They are doing nothing for the profession nor the credibility of design. If you want to know about the serious downfall of design competitions and the credibility of organizations involved when somethings goes awry visit Design 21 and read what happened to their last competition. Everything is turning into one big competition and I just don't understand what's going on with professional work.
