We can't confirm if this is a hoax or not (red flag #1: bum grammar on the website) but Jetpack International claims to be selling a jetpack with a five-gallon tank that will fly for 19 minutes at speeds up to 83 m.p.h., with a max range of 27 miles. We're also not sure why the guy in the PR photo is flying it next to a windmill, maybe his wife just left him.
Price? US $200,000. And while they're taking pre-orders, the thing won't be ready until December. Hmm. Anyways, here's some video of the supposed device:

The jetpack is very real, you can find info about it all over the web. The only thing is that it can only work for about less than a minute. So yeah, it's real but not useful except for showing-off
the device is real, no reason why someone hasn't started making, and if people are willing to pay 200k then it seems worth their while! cos they dont cost that to make!
Rocket belts, however cool, are not very practical. In fact a machine that weighs over 100 pounds can only fly for thirty seconds. I have seen a real one in action at the X Prize Cup, in Las Crusas NM. After seeing one in action this video must be a composite of many flights.
the motion looks more like he's hanging off a rope, he keeps circling in an arc while maintain the same altitude. if you've watched enough hongkong kungfu flicks, you'd notice similar motions.
There was a guy who would fly over sports stadiums in like that 80's.
This is real, he was on the Today show about a month or so ago flying around. The time and range of the rocket pack isn't very long but it works none-the-less.
jetpacks are now available for sale for about 35,000
Building my own air breathing jetpack. And it will not be selling for 200k. Thats plain greedy.
