
As a child in the '70s, one of the worst things that could happen was you could be watching an episode of The Bionic Woman when one of the Fembots pulled her face off--the mechanical crap underneath was creepy.
We felt a similar revulsion at seeing a photo of an ergo keyboard with the face pulled off:

Admittedly it was for a more benevolent purpose than scaring the crap out of Jaime Sommers; computer user Matt Mets was just hacking his keyboard to get rid of that annoying bell that goes off when you press the wrong key. Glad you managed to fix it, Matt...and thanks for bringing our nightmares back.

Seriously, these "things" are the reason I find any "human-like" robot / android creepy.
