Designer Marcus Sandeman's Product Tank Toaster prototype started out as a design spoof, but beyond the shop-geeky central trick--the heating elements close in on the bread like a vise, accommodating different thicknesses--one extremely useful feature we dig is the crumb tray base, which can be easily separated from the rest of the toaster and tossed in the sink or dishwasher.
