Inspired by the history and social values of the sabil, the traditional middle-eastern public water fountain, Zohar Shalev's Mayimayim device provides mineral water in public spaces, serving as a community focal point. Refills cost a fifth of the price of a new bottle, and each time the machines four water tanks are restocked, the environment is spared 150 plastic bottles-worth of waste.
