Yesterday's post on flashlights covered well-designed versions of the rod-style torch; today we take a look at Streamlight's Sidewinder, which has a more decidedly military bent and is designed in an entirely different form factor. Design features include a 185-degree rotating head, a pull-to-turn locking rotary color selector knob that can be used with gloves on, and battery polarity indicators that make it easy to change the batteries in the dark. Flashlights have come a long way since that metal cylinder Bobby Brady used to smuggle hot dogs in!
