From the same folks who brought us Streamgarden, comes the luscious new Plantwall vertical greenery application. Green Fortune's vision for Plantwall aims to truly bring the outside in, implementing a significant amount plantlife without sacrificing floor space. The four-layer textile wall precisely distributes water and fertilizer throughout the entire wall which can be tailor-made to suit any wall space.

hey, these guys arn't the only ones who did this and they certainly are not the first. I believe some credit goes to Monsieur Blanc. check the link: http://www.businessweek.com/globalbiz/content/oct2006/gb20061004_381966.htm?chan=innovation_architecture_top+stories
My university (Queen's, in Canada) has had one of these for the past two years - except that ours doubles as an effective air filtration system. Check it out: http://livebuilding.queensu.ca/mechanical/biowall/
It's an interesting website, too - every function of the building is monitored and available for review at any time.
While the previous comments' links show that there have been previous ways to implement a "living wall", I believe the autonomous nature of this approach is what deserves attention. It doesn't look as if there is as much active maintenance associated with it.
