Do you like Marc Newson's Ikepod watch designs? Then you, my friend, have expensive taste--that puppy up top will run you $39,000, signifying that industrial design star power is officialy out of control. For 39-large that thing better have the ability to time travel.

So, in your opinion Hipstomp, what is the happy medium? Had Newson done a watch for Timex that cost $49.99 you'd be screaming that he is a sell-out superstar industrial designer (ala Starck at Target).
For what it is worth, they aren't charging $39k for this because it is a Newson design. I'm SURE that has something to do with it, but it is more than likely that it has a handmade Swiss movement in it and is only being produced in a very small run. Newson founded the company Ikepod back in the early 90's and then brought it back in 2006. They are Swiss time pieces and often times Swiss watches are about luxury and collectibility. If price is all you can find to criticize about it then I suppose Mr. Newson did his job as a designer.
