
Fuenlabrada, a Spanish town on the outskirts of Madrid, have responded to the nation's rapid growth towards gender equality by adding skirts and ponytails to street signs and signals. Half of the flashing "walk" stickmen will be given skirts to represent the ladies (and traditional kilt-wearing Scotsmen). The picture above left shows a pedestrian crossing sign with female representation.

How long before they have to be changed because skirts and ponytails are deemed stereotypical? Oh, and what about representing GLTBi etc...? Well, at least now it's not just men who are allowed to cross the street.
I live in Hanover, NH right now, home to Dartmouth College, and the walk sign I pass every day appears to have been taped up to be giving either The Shocker or a Rock On sign.
