The entries from Scotch Tape's first annual Off The Roll Tape Sculpture Contest are coming in, including the awesomely cute, oversized goldfish (above) and the ominous, beachside octopus (below). Scotch is asking you to vote for your favorite entries, which counts for 10% of the final judging.
The contest doesn't end until February 28th, so you still have time to submit your own. The grand prize winner, selected by judges Mark Jenkins, Joe Davidson and Jess Nolan (tape sculptors themselves), will receive $5,000 and a case of tape. Guidelines and instructional video are available here.
More sculptures after the jump.

Got to give it to ScotchTape, what a great way to get people to use their product. The pay back for them is huge. $5000 for prize money, they'll probably make that several times over from the amount of tape people have wasted in making these sculptures that will probably end up in the garbage when the creators realise they haven't won. Or at least eventually when the tape starts going yellow with age.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for stimulating creativity and I think that some of these works are great. But did it have to be done with Scotch Tape...
To reference another post: you can make a change towards a 'world without oil' by not entering a competition like this.
