No stranger to contemporary waterfront architecture, Copenhagen's new aquarium 'The Blue Planet' is planned to open in 2013. Danish architects 3XN won the project with their 'Whirlpool' proposal inspired by nature and the sea. Located on the island of Amager near Copenhagen Airport, airline passengers will be able to take in an aerial view of the structures literal whirlpool shape.
