Hopefully, you aren't stacking furniture to change your lightbulbs, but, on the other hand, if you don't have the space for ladders and stepstools in your small city apartment, what are you supposed to do?
Shira Keret has made a small kit of non-slip grip pads to make this safe for both you and the furniture. Injected silicon treads grip the surface of the table and the bottom of your shoes, while a felt flap keeps the dirt off. And it all hangs up on the peg next to your dustpan.
We like this project because it takes an already existing improvisatory activity and augments it, with a minimum of means. Why can't a table and two chairs double as a stepstool?
Shira is young Israeli designer, part of the design group called, well, DesignGroup.
